Copacabana Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world and rightly so. The gorgeous ocean with the mountains around it and in the background is a hypnotizing sight.
Something I personally loved about this beach was how lively it is from 5 AM until well past midnight. Early in the morning you can see healthy and very attractive people jogging, skateboarding, skating, running, etc. At around 8 AM you can see people walking their dogs, traffic is already hectic and street vendors and restaurants are open for business.
Being from Miami and living close to the beach I know how to appreciate a beach, Copacabana is a must see! We took the time to walk all the way from the south to the north end of the beach and truly enjoyed it. You will be highly rewarded by the views of Copacabana offered by the structures at each end of the beach. On the north end you can enjoy Morro do Leme which is a well kept secret. On the south end you can enjoy the Forte de Copacabana which is not only a beautiful fortress, it also offers a gorgeous view of Ipanema Beach.
Walking from end to end of Copacabana will take you about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. Wear comfy shoes, bring your camera and always beware of your surroundings.
